Earl W. Mitton

The death of Earl Wheaton Mitton of Sussex Corner occurred at his residence on February 21, 2010 at the age of 80. He was born at Smiths Creek, a son of the late Willard and Mildred (Burns) Mitton. Earl is survived by his wife of 56 years, Alice (Proctor) Mitton, daughter Joanne (Junior) Gregg of Jeffries Corner, sons; Russell (Allyson) Mitton of Dutch Valley and Richard (Eunice) Mitton of Mechanic Settlement, grandchildren; Michael Gregg (Jenny Holder), Jodie (Jan) Mitton, Roma Lee (Anthony) Myers, Sarah (Mike) Madden, Leslie Gregg (Jeremy Muir) and Jessica (Joel) McGibbon, great grandchildren; Reese, Willow, Hailey, Chase, Nolan, Madalynn and Jordan, sisters; Verda (Harry) Fanjoy of Dutch Valley, Eileen Cole of Sussex, Jackie (Junior) Armstrong of Sussex Corner and Betty Ann (Raleigh) Myers of Mount Hebron, brother Bob (Paulette) Mitton of Drurys Cove and brother-in-law Charlie Bruce of Fredericton and several nieces and nephews and many friends. Earl was predeceased by his sister Margaret Bruce and brothers; Vernon, Murray, Douglas, Cecil and Walter.

The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road, Sussex (504-433-2133) on Wednesday from 4-8PM. The funeral service will be held on Thursday February 25, 2010 at 11:00AM in the funeral home chapel, with Jeanette Cosman officiating. Donations made to the Diabetic Society, the Sussex Red Cross or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
